End of Summer Break
Since being back in Wellington, for the rest of summer break we just relaxed around town without much schedule which was great. We spent most days going to the beach (Oriental Bay and Scorching Bay our favorites) or on rainy days going to the movies or an indoor pool. The kids favorite was Kilbirnie Pool which had a huge plastic slide set up in the deep end of the pool for the holidays. It also had a plastic obstacle course thing with a slide at the end which was in a different section of the pool. In another spot there was a rope swing that went into the water. Zeke mostly played in the pools in the other little room where he could stand and dive down for things for as long as he wanted. All of this was $2 for the girls, 50 cents for Zeke and 50 cents for me (as a spectator) - very reasonable I'd say to keep the kids happy and occupied for hours on end.
Other than those daily outings of one sort or another, Rachel has been rehearsing a lot for a dance show she will be in at the beginning of March, and Tony has been running again daily. Life is good, despite the ongoing battle with lice, which continue to come back (see posting above).
The kids started their new school year on Feb. 7th, and are very happy in their new classes and activities. Maddy is taking diving lessons and a musical theatre class, both of which she loves. Jordy is still taking jazz dance, but has gone back to piano, leaving the violin for now (probably a good thing). Zeke is taking swimming lessons, as well as a little creative dance class - he is absolutely adorable in it - he is the one boy in the class with 14 little girls in their pink outfits. He loves it!
That's about it for now...
